The incredible route takes in an eclectic mix of historic haciendas, hotels & lodges. Our route spans the most spectacular mountain ranges, roads and rivers in Peru, and on to the Manu Biosphere Reserve.
This is one of the most biodiverse terrestrial ecosystems on earth, providing an important refuge for innumerable species of plants and animals and protecting traditional ways of life for the park’s indigenous populations. However, increasing pressures from the outside world are threatening transform the face of the Manu, endangering the indigenous peoples and wildlife.
We work with the Crees foundation, a Peruvian not for profit organisation, dedicated to supporting a sustainable Amazon through conservation research and community development, and we use their lodges, boats, and expert team within the reserve. Our rainforest alliance verified lodges, the Manu Learning Centre and Romero Rainforest Lodge are set within the incredible Manu Biosphere Reserve, so you can truly immerse yourself in nature. Read more about the Crees Foundation
A UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important areas of biodiversity globally, the Manu Biosphere Reserve is home to part of the last intact rain forest in Peru. Its multiple fragile ecosystems are home not only to an amazing array of fauna and flora but also to indigenous people, and un-contacted tribes.
With deforestation and unsustainable exploitation of the natural resources your money goes to help support a sustainable Amazon through better understanding of the value of the rainforest and helping local people to access its resources, in ways that are both profitable, and that will preserve the forest for the future.
